Leave out all the rest..

Time to say good bye to 2011.I do not know if we are entering the apocalypse in 2012 but yeah, world is growing a year older than it was.Already the mobile networks have announced the 'no rate cutter applicable' on Christmas and New year :D ;people have started to plan on their parties and resolutions;Tamil enthusiasts are ready to debate that Jan 1 is not the New year for a 'true' Tamilian; all the new year release movie bookings have begun;celebrities will fill the tv channels with saying New year is /isn't a big deal for them... All the usual stuff that fills the final week of every year have started their work.

2011- its been quite a year for me. It would have been one for everybody who has undergone the 'school to college' and/or 'minor to major' transition. As I look back and try to recollect everything that has happened in the year-people you've met,incidents-good and bad, things that joined you, things have left you,for the better or for the worse.. I'm not really sure if recollecting it all is a good thing to do,you know, because sometimes, some incidents might make you wish you had a bad memory.

But this year,on the whole, has been good-in spite of the first surgery in my family, those really scary moments;a not so great birthday (I was trying so hard to convince myself that it was a good day- it highlighted my true friends to me though);in spite of these,I had a lot of nice stuff that happened to eclipse all of it.

I got to meet a lot of people, and by that I mean A LOT of people-people who were nice to me;people who showed me that even these kinda people exist on the planet;people who awed me with their skills, from whom I might or might not learn a thing in the days to come(Because I always think that people who are good in a field cant always be a good teacher of it);people who taught me things-good bad and ugly;people who tried to bring out the best in me;people I disappointed, people who disappointed me...

There are a few people who come under the list of 'change of attitude'.Some people I liked and later hated;people who hated/disliked(think this word is better than the other :p) me and then changed for the better (even if not better for them, definitely better for me :D ) people whom I liked, then hated, then on the run developed myself to see the best in them.... Most of these changes happened because maybe I didn't face the facts or was scared of it;maybe things are not always the way you want them to be...

But yeah.. everyone taught me something, directly or indirectly and I'm grateful to y'all.

I was listening to the song "Leave out all the rest" over and over again the past two days(iTunes says 20 plays).I never have listened to this song with much of an interest before though I am a fan of Linkin Park;but the past two days this song, the lyrics, has made a big impact on me.

To everyone who made 2011 a different, unique and a memorable year.. this song is a request to you.

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
'Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here?

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest

Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I've made
I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you

Forgetting all the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well
Pretending someone else can come
And save me from myself
I can't be who you are

  7. A gr8 flo of words dat stood up to express, rather than speak!
"Enthusiasts"- Yu've dropd an apt word by, Blinkin
I don't think any other word'd haf given a better sarcasm (I Guess, yuh meant It!).

    .
Readin' yuh, I kud remember Shaw's, "Maxims for Revolutions", 'He who can, does. He who can't, teaches.'
Oscar Wilde agrees with yuh, saying, 'Everybody who is incapable of learning has taken to teaching.'
